“The natural optimum state of an individual element which in turn gives way to a natural optimum state of the whole.”

Over the past few days and in the light of recent tragedies I have had the opportunity to bring this word up over and over. Otherwise the collective and everyone in it is fearful of the implications and therefore in resultant in denial of its real effect.

Anarchy is a state of nature, a logos. Of course a lot of us would point out that Anarchy had its origins as a word around the 16th century but let me tell you that it has been found in Taoism before that; Christ has been nominated as one of the most prolific Anarchists as well. To iterate further, whereas the Taoists were principally interested in nature and identified with it, the opposing sect of Confucians were more worldly- minded and concerned with reforming society (note here the underlining repetitive trend of adaptability being the progressive trait).

Those in line with ancient and Greek philosophy will know that the mythos-logos-nomos triangulation remains part of the crucial “relic grammar” of thought. Mythos is the myth, logos is what is natural (or the word of “God”) and nomos, the customs we derive out of the situation.

This logos holds always but humans always prove unable to understand it, both before hearing it and when they have first heard it. For though all things come to be in accordance with this logos, humans are like the inexperienced when they experience such words and deeds as I set out, distinguishing each in accordance with its nature and saying how it is. But other people fail to notice what they do when awake, just as they forget what they do while asleep. —Diels-Kranz, 22B1

For this reason it is necessary to follow what is common. But although the logos is common, most people live as if they had their own private understanding. —Diels-Kranz, 22B2

Listening not to me but to the logos it is wise to agree that all things are one. —Diels-Kranz, 22B50

You see, in the quantum world, as in ancient philosophy, observation changes the current state of everything.

An atom that is perfectly stable is nothing but a bunch of protons and electrons in perfect harmony. The inner consciousness of this atom (believably the neutrons) has reached a state of balance to the atom’s individual effect. Therefore such an atom has a better chance of being in harmony. Although, the moment the atom observes it’s state of peace it has changed to that of violence.

In inverse proportionality it is safe to say and assume that the moment the atom observes it’s state of violence it will begin changing towards that of peace.

With such a background, any collective that is not operated or observed by a central body of laws(state) flows naturally towards anarchy in it’s own discourse.

In today’s context, well you see this whole concept overflowing all around in different manifestations and I will sign off with an image of the most natural states of “anarchy in harmony” that I have observed. GODSPEED! :)

We have layers inside us, most of which you should be able to sense and differentiate. As far as I know it looks kind of like this…

At a glance this looks amazingly complex of course, but you can figure that it starts from the core (the Sun/Nirvana) of your self and extends out to the current physical body we exhibit. Therefore the closer the layer to your Sun, deeper it influences you. Here we have to understand which element/feeling stands in which plane for each of us (as our anatomy is mostly very different) to havve a good grasp on being able to understand ourselves and therefore deliver the best.

Simply put, sitting down with yourself and your thoughts, meditation, self advocacy and revaluation, these are few of the methods to begin parallel inquiry into yourself and understanding the geometry of our planes. And they say, divine music occurs when the seven planes of existence are in harmony with each other.

“There’s a nice German word, gesamtkunstwerk. It means the entirety is a work of art.”

A few days back I chanced upon this work while researching on anthropology and design…here’s to dissecting it.

Etymology - gesamt meaning total, whole, entire; Kunstwerk meaning work of art, artwork.

The term was coined for the first time back in 1827 by the German philosopher and theologian, K.F.E. Trahndorff.
Few years ahead and Richard Wagner starts using this term in his Zurich essays of 1849 in relation to aesthetic principles and social dreams. A century later it was applied to forms of architecture as well.

Syntheses of arts is a confusing subject and the phenomenon has been enthusiastically reviewed by great thinkers and artists alike. Some call the process an art work in itself, where the different arts that are being blended, disappear, and in completing the process, somehow form a new world.

During the Renaissance most artists failed to see a strict division between architecture, interior design, sculpture, painting and even engineering.

Today, almost like in retrospect, traces of the term exist in all processes of art and design. We have been using it endlessly, unknowingly. Our processes have developed and most of our art forms have become modernized, yet it is this progress that makes the term a necessary and much awaited change. The methodology of “Total Design”, invented by Stuart Pugh, has been thrown around quite a bit, is the closest we have come to this idea in the modern day.

Design Activity Model by Pugh

The integration of the creative arts and the different scales of design in modern society, according to this framework has been explored deeply by Juliet Koss in her book Modernism after Wagner. She raises quite a few important questions in her writing, but the one that interests me the most is that of the nature of totality - the attempt to merge art with life represents an age-old desire that has existed in our journey of evolution, to recover a lost unity of sorts.

And this is where I see us heading, absolute efficient design through the scope of product, process, people and organization - with the missing addition of purpose.

What I like most about this concept is the quantification of art and design as an end goal. A lot of our world problems have simple answers, a pragmatic approach at design can help with many of these answers; even more, can help ask the more important questions and overall give us a chance to recreate more constructive conversations in the integrated scenario of anthropology and design.

Like Walter Gropius said

Mistakes have always be-founded everything, so much so that most genius inventions are mistakes. Yet why do we keep getting told off for making mistakes, and more importantly why do we let ourselves?

Natural selection is actually a permutation and combination of mistakes and achievements. It grows through this process of mistakes and achievements. And it’s obvious, we’ve always heard that you learn from your mistakes, they make you.

Yet there has to be a better way to learn this and I find today, 14 February, 14, a good day to begin.

Best lessons are from mistakes

A mistake is not failure, you just know what doesn’t work

More often than not, mistakes have made people wiser. To avoid situations where you might make a mistake is the biggest mistake one can make. There is not one thing that doesn’t work by the laws of permutation and combination, which translates into evolutionary natural selection. This works in a way, where it eliminates distractions and keeps getting closer to the perfection of the process, whatever it may be.

Evolution itself is a by-product of learning from mistakes and it would be a shame if our mistakes don’t look worth the while.

Never repeat a mistake, if you do, you haven’t learnt anything from it, yet.

A bachelor is the guy who never made the same mistake once.
Of course this doesn’t mean that he is aware of the state of his emotions in the situation of him being married to somebody. In short, he doesn’t know about the variables, how would he get the math right?

Yet if you’ve made a mistake once, you (should) have some kind of a math worked around it, make sure you don’t screw up a 2nd time because of the same error.

Whoever said don’t dig too deep, didn’t want you to find out.

Don’t dwell there, devour it. If we see, digest, interact with and learn from our greatest mistakes, they become our most potential experiences.

It’s easy to dissect a mistake: What, Why, When and How, ask yourselves these 4 questions regarding it.
There’s a thin life of difference though, between you dissecting the mistake and vice-versa. Pay attention to it.

Learn from others’ mistakes, you don’t have the time to make them all yourself.

There are 3 kinds of men. The one that learns by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves -Will Rogers

Let’s start off easy…the meaning.

It is derived from,

Universum (Latin), ‘uni’ meaning one + ‘Versum’ or ‘versus’ the past participle for ‘verter’, to turn.

In literal sense, it is one and the opposite of it, everyone, everything.

I mean that’s obvious, the universe is everything. Everything is in it.

But how is it constructed? Well, if you look at an atom this would be the easiest to solve. Quantum physics says we are all made of the particle, everything is. So it makes sense to take it is a model for everything…

So basically we are looking at the center body, the nucleus + a surrounding mass of effervescent electrons on orbits. I use the word effervescent here…the electrons exist as an effect to the nucleus. At this point you could consider the cause to be the nucleus.

In philosophy, this existence is called a process. These are basically cycles of two events, the second exists because of the first.

Just to sum it up…

The Universe, which is everything, is a process of processes.

This might look like a weird word equation that I have proved right with some phony math. But that’s for you guys to question. And I love questions.

But let’s get back to the topic, we’re almost done.

So I begin to imagine the construct of the Universe as an event/phenomenon/process/magic, in s fractal plane of existence (:

Generalizing the Collatz procedure to the complex plane results in the Collatz fractal, which reminds of the Mandelbrot set.

I begin to see the Universe’s riddle of being such paradoxical in nature, and so even this is probably not that easy. I think there would be another riddle.

I understand that the Universe’s center is nothing but the Universe’s brain. The accumulation of all of everything’s consciousness. Thus the center is everywhere.

If you would believe this, the folks in the Quantum world, they say,

The center of the Universe is mathematically nowhere, so scientifically it is everywhere.

Everything has the potential to be the center, as separate events or entities, but one.

tag:verbflux.svbtle.com,2014:Post/magic-design2014-02-04T00:59:09-08:002014-02-04T00:59:09-08:00Magic + Design

Are the same thing…

Yup, that’s what the marketers call a luring title. I played a small trick there, placed magic first. That does wonders apparently.

It’s pretty amazing how these two are related. Cause they are not just related they are actually synonyms. Your dictionary doesn’t tell you that because it’s my headache, this is my blog’s [pun] soul [pun] purpose.

All right now that I’ve showed you a bunch of tricks…

The earliest known usage of the word Magi is in the trilingual inscription written by Darius the Great, Magic was called Magi and has been described as…

The Experience.

Of course ever since, the word’s use has been pervasive and self-destructive throughout the Eastern Mediterranean, Western Asian, Hellenistic and later modern cultures.

But in the origin of the term,
Magic = Experience

This is easy to grasp actually.

Experience is the culmination of a certain point of time and has various factors of time in it - a person undergoes and encounters these practical contact with/and/or observation of facts or events for that specific space and time constraint/phenomenon.
This space-time-state is or can be a potential magical experience all the time.

Time itself is quite magical, you know! And it holds magic in a variety of shapes, sizes and forms. Mostly we fail to perceive this magic or sense it, but potentially, it is always there.

I mean it’s most effective to see and say that magic, experience, time, design - are all synonyms of each other that we created to try and express and come in terms with what is actually life that we are experiencing, living through, making our way, trying to find a silver lining, trying to make heads of tails.

If you like how I see this you can read my last post about how experience is design.
